Thank you for your interest in our Foster Care Program. We provide an umbrella of services for families seeking licensure for traditional foster care, foster to adopt, kinship placements, fictive kin placements, respite providers and legally free placements. We pride ourselves in remaining a smaller agency to ensure better service for each client we serve.
Our best line of defense to serve our children in care is to equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills to assist them in learning healthy styles of living. That is where we come in!
Please note that this process is very intensive. All of our families must be willing to share all personal information in order to complete this process in its entirety.

To begin the process of becoming a licensed foster parent through our agency, you will start out by having a phone orientation meeting. Following your orientation, if agreed by both parties (our agency and you as a prospective client) you will begin the licensing process. You will receive your initial paperwork via email. The first step will be to fill-out and submit a consent for our agency to request FBI and Central Registry (CPS) history background checks for every member in your household, ages 14+, not including children who are currently in a kinship placement through DFPS.
Following the submission of all initial paperwork, you will need to complete all of our online trainings and tests. You will also need to take an approved CPR/FA/AED class on your own time and at your own expense (please check with us regarding our specific requirements). You will also need to pay to have a fire inspection and a health inspection completed in your home. We can connect you with resources for these services. Please note that most of our trainings and inspections have a renewal timeline. With that said, our best advice is to not start jumping to complete such tasks; please speak with our agency first.
Once you have completed all requirements, then we will begin the home study process to officially license your home. This process can take up to two months to schedule and complete, dependent on other homes that may have already been scheduled ahead of yours. The home study is when one of our Social Workers visits your home and extensively interviews all household members currently residing within your home while also inspecting the home for safety requirements.
